Sarah Jayne, a versatile storyteller, film director, producer, and writer, embarked on her cinematic journey in 2006, immersing herself in various roles within the art department for film and television. Transitioning to writing, directing, and producing with Nexus Production Group in 2013, she helmed notable short films 'Dusk,' 'Anniversary,' and the acclaimed educational focused 'Daughter,' featuring Katherine Langford, which gained recognition both domestically and internationally.

Some of Sarah Jayne current achievements include having her feature documentaries selected and invited to screen at Women Deliver Arts & Film Festival, Rwanda (2023), The AFI European Union Film Showcase (2023) and European Parliament Brussels (2024). Her focus as a storyteller remains firm – to produce and direct impactful films and write stories exploring the complex human condition and a person’s connection to the world. Finding joy in creating believable characters, Sarah Jayne is in her element on set shaping an outline with her team and during pre-production, building characters with her actors in from the ground up.

Alongside her filmmaking endeavors, Sarah Jayne served as assistant director for the Made in Melbourne Film Festival from 2013 onwards, contributing to its nine-year success. Her involvement with her production company extends to outreach, film marketing and representing NPG in press engagements.

Furthermore, she plays a pivotal role in conceptualising and directing NPG's international short film series, 'Life Improvised,' with locations ranging from Europe to Australia.

In 2019, Sarah Jayne expanded her skill set by obtaining qualifications in Character-Based Improvisation, particularly focusing on the Mike Leigh directing techniques under Robert Marchand's tutelage. Her filmmaking experience and passion for sharing knowledge led her to teach improvised filmmaking classes in person and online through platforms like Udemy, Skillshare, and Indie Film Hustle.
